Squid Pro Quo Magazine

CBA-NL’s Branch magazine, Squid Pro Quo, was relaunched in 2022 with two print issues per year, after being on hiatus for several years. Although the magazine is no longer in production, past editions remain available below for reference and archival interest.

Well-known features such as In Personam and Beyond the Overpass were included, along with updates on provincial and national association activities and legal issues impacting the Newfoundland and Labrador community.

Earlier issues of Squid Pro Quo, first published under that name in 1996, will continue to be uploaded here. The inaugural issue (Summer 1996) featured articles on Technology and the Law, including topics like “Computers in the Law Office,” “Internet Basics,” and “Lawyers on the Internet: Superhighway or Road to Ruin?!”

Before 1996, the publication was known as the Newfoundland Newsletter. You can also explore older editions such as this copy from 1991.
